Sundaresan (“Subi”) Subramanian is a distinguished energy and environmental professional, international speaker, author, and trainer with decades of experience spanning India, the United States, and Asia.

A pioneer in advancing energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and international cooperation, he has held senior positions in multinational organizations and U.S. Government agencies and has trained thousands of professionals and students worldwide.

His contributions have earned notable recognition, including the Energy Professional Award from the Association of Energy Engineers (USA)—the first Indian to receive this honor, the Meritorious Honor Award from the U.S. Government, the Environmental Expert Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu, and, most recently, the Times of India Ecopreneur Award 2026 for “Lifetime Achievement in Sustainability.”

A lifelong student and teacher of Sanskrit and Indian wisdom, Subramanian founded the Subi Vidya Foundation (SVF) to bring together his two enduring passions—ancient wisdom and sustainable living—and inspire a better future for people and the planet.

Smt. Vidya Subramanian is an accomplished musician with creative and artistic skills. She is conversant with many of the ancient scriptures in Sanskrit and Tamil. She loves nature and has taught Carnatic music to hundreds of students around the globe.

A practicing Architect and Town planner with more than two decades of experience and a professor in a leading college in Chennai. She is deeply interested in environmental matters relating to sustainability, revitalizing water bodies, wastewater and solid waste treatment practices to reduce carbon footprint.
